…into the very heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me…
…the waters closed in over me; the deep surrounded me…
…I went down to the land whose bars closed upon me forever…

Holy smokes, this is amazing! Such beautiful motion. Joseph Campbell would be proud.
Those massive churning waves are awesome to behold. Set against the tiny figure of J
Jonah with his hand held up it is so evocative of our powerlessness and the power of God.
Wonderful work Jack- it leaves me speechless.
Blessings
Truly intriguing.
So many layers to the story/stories portrayed in the drawing. If we all are part of this story and the story is happening without as well as happening within, then what part/parts am I playing in the outer drama and what parts of my self are like the characters in the Jonah story unfolding in my inner life? Viewing this drawing and seeing Mike’s reference of Joseph Campbell I’m reminded of the Joseph Campbell quote, ” Myths are group dreams and dreams are personal myths.” Once again Jack, you remind me to be awake to the stories…
What an absolute delight to happen upon your work.
Thank you for saying so, Steven. I am honored.
