Very lovely, but you will have to explain this one.
I was hoping that you might have some insights for me, Yaakov.
That’s really great, Jack. Seeing this is a good way to start a day. Is the stone building on the bottom a view inside of the hill?
This is incredible.
The lamb has been such a powerful, bittersweet symbol for me during this past year. This drawing put it into a new light.
The facial expression that the lamb angel is making is absolutely chilling. Vast, endless, bright, unfolding, all knowing, infinite. The lamb I used o envision was pure pure white, soft, warm and perfectly subtle. It was guiltless and unapproachable because of its innocence. I see now that innocence and purity are not things lost but are things achieved. It’s not about maintenance it’s about rising above ourselves and into a pure state.
The blood angel brings me face to face with the reality of how wholly bitter and deceptively sweet it is to be flesh and blood. Frustrated and hungry and even hungrier the more you feed it. Poking at the ground as tho temptation itself is tempting even without the satisfaction of pleasure. Like tonging a sore on the inside of your cheek all the while knowing that it would heal if you would stop doing it.
There’s only empty anxiousness in flesh.
But in the lamb there’s an endless knowing. A knowing that without the blood, as taxing and sinful as it may be, could have never been brought to light. As tho the battle in between true self and the flesh may be the very seeds from which your spirit grows.
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Puzzling and wonderful!
