The original drawing exploring the Spiritual Mechanics of Labor and Rest Walking Man encounters God in the burning bush https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn79xjaNQcY/ I needed a hinge that would be fully concealed where the door and case meet at 45 degrees and then to open a full 180 degrees, while fully clearing the cabinet opening and not taking up a ton of space at the same time. There are still some kinks and latching issues that will be caused by this design- but it does seem to work. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn2hIRiJ-vS/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CnzKSysrGNZ/ I had to come up with a way to join Saint Bede’s Box accurately and be able to repeatedly take it apart and reassemble it as I work on all of the internal and external components over time, without wearing out the joints, and blue tape wasn’t cutting it. I finally decided to fabricate these brass inside corners that are inlaid flush to the interior surfaces of the box and attached using brass machine screws into brass threaded inserts. It took two or three days to dial the fit in, but now I can see the box assembled without tape everywhere, and begin to accurately fit doors and other hinging panels #saintbedesbox Drawing of God breathing life into Adam on a block of linoleum- nearly ready to carve. The interior theater of Saint Bede’s Box removed for some work fitting a drawer

Paper Kestrel

More paper engineering.  This time a paper kestrel puppet in progress.  Here is his head.  There is a lot of cutting and folding and gluing to develop the shape.

The wings; almost ready to be attached to the body.

The Russian Jonah now with eyes and hands.

Another view of the kestrel’s wings.
