Underpainting Complete!
The grisaille underpainting of Thomas and Jesus, et all is finally to a point where I feel ready to begin applying glazes of color. After 6 years of work I thought I should take some decent photos of the whole thing before the next phase. Thank you for watching.

Oh, the fabric! I am touched by the care taken with the many drapes and folds of their garments. What is it that captures me… The drapes and folds are like water, like living water, washing over the whole scene. That and some of the folds are reminiscent of light being reflected from water’s surface. How wonderful.
