Go On, Obed Edom

For many years the story and name of Obed Edom have struck deeply within me.  His story in the bible is pretty short.  As with many things I have tried to make my work a path into exploring this mystery.  This print is now finished.  To go along with its completion, I have included a song that I wrote a number of years ago of the same subject and with the same goal in mind.  I hope that they are moderately fitting accompaniment to a powerful story and special man who I know very little about.

Go On: Hermit

Recently, I had the opportunity to re-photograph this painting from 2001.  It is called Go On: Hermit, and is approximately 12″ x 10″.  There are many themes persistent in my work which had their genesis in this particular painting.  I hope that you enjoy being able to see it in greater detail and clarity than has been available previously.

A bowl for Clive, a mantle for Tanner, and a spoon and a saddle (I am only responsible for the plaque, which is in hedge and walnut) for Harold.  This weeks bonus image is a little tree frog freshly emerged from my son’s tadpole nursery.  I trust you’ll forgive so many images of one bowl when you consider how stunning the character of the grain is from every angle.

Butchering Chickens A’ La Tom Sawyer

I had so much excellent help from four amazing people that I felt like Tom Sawyer on fence painting day.
